The 5th Avenue Initiative aims to revitalize the area through the creation of new community spaces. In our efforts, we encourage community participation through the existing East Central community participation activities that continue to be vital in building strong social connections and a real sense of belonging within our vibrant and inclusive community. 5th Avenue
Initiative
A foundational revitalization effort focused on improving 5th Avenue and the surrounding area, adopted by the City of Spokane in 2021.

Neighborhood Plan
The 5th Avenue Community Plan, launched in 2025, will establish a community-led framework of goals and policies for future land use, economic growth, connectivity, and quality of life improvements for the 5th Avenue community in the East Central neighborhood.
East Central Neighborhood Council
The East Central Neighborhood Council meets monthly to discuss issues and initiatives.
Juneteenth Celebration
The Juneteenth Celebration honors the history and significance of Juneteenth each year.

Corbin Senior Activity Center

Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture

Spokane Parks & Recreation

Northwest Bach Festival
A plan developed through community involvement to address neighborhood needs, adopted in 2005.

A neighborhood cultural center and gathering place, as well as a community-based organization that provides programs and services focused on addressing the needs of Spokane's African American/ Black community.

A regionally recognized community social service center providing comprehensive education, social services and cultural enrichment programs for children and families.
